Violin

After using 50mm lenses on the Vivitar teleconverter i wanted to see what the 100mm would do.
Well can't go bigger/closer because of working distance but the fine quality stayed. Above an example.

Old leaf with Old camera...

Finally had film from the Ricoh XR-6 developed.
Above is one of the results. I like the camera it's small and easy to focus with and the 50mm Rikenon XR 50mm L 1:2 lens is nice and sharp.
Rewinding the film didn't went as smooth as i had wished for, maybe user mistake?

Light....

Walking around with the 70-210 shooting wide open to check optical performance if found the above. I am happy enough with wide open performance, though one stop down and performance gets better.

Macro is fun. Because i don't have a single macro lens available i use a teleconverter for 50mm for my macro needs.
The above is from a small macro serie of 'rust'.

Shot taken with:
Nikon D90
Mamiya Sekor 50mm 1:2 SX m42
Vivitar Macro Focussing Teleconverter 2x (for 50mm) n/ai mf
Editing in PS CS5

The above combination gives great results in my opinion. I love it. Check my Flickr for more macro results with this combination.

70-210...me versus fungus.

Today i succesfully opened a Nikon Series E 70-210 f4 ai-s lens.
It had fungus on the second lens element from the front, 1 screw only wich deceased during the operation. Unscrewed full front element and there is was, the fungus.
Lens came out 99% of 100% i guess.
Gonna have fun with this one on both de D90 but also the F100.
The ai(s) lenses i have make me wonder should'nt i be getting a d300s of d7000 (or d700).
No metering on the D90 works off course, but sometimes......

Another Gift...!

The same colleague that gave me the agfa last week came with a new surprise last thursday.
She gave me a LowePro Nova Mini camera bag and said look inside.
I found this:

''Canos EOS 500n + BP8 and 28-80 4-5.6 + 80-200 4-5.6''

Complete with the manual and 2 old films. One 2002 and one 2003 as end time. Both 100asa.
The BP-8 still was filled with penlites wich were leaking. So i cleaned out the grip and fitted it with 4 fresh penlites and turned the camera on and it responded as it should.
Filled it with one of the 2 rolls of film en will fill this and get it developed.
A picture of the camera will follow soon.

Well THANX again!!

Results Minolta Dynax 3xi

Filled the Minolta Dynax 3xi with Power Zoom 35-80 1:4-5.6. with a roll of Fuji Superia 400asa.
The Hema devoloped the film and i scanned the negatives with my Nikon Coolscan LS-40.
Edited the scans with Photoshop CS5.
It is a strange camera, works diferrent compared to my Nikon's, though i like the ''bokeh'' it creates. Guess i won't be using it on a daily basis but it was a fun camera to fool around with!

Been playing with the Vivitar 2x Teleconverter for 50mm lenses. Above shot was taken with my Mamiya Sekor 50mm 1:2 SX m42 mounted on the teleconverter. Using minimal lightning from a halogen lamp wich resides on my desk for light during the nighthours.
Editing is done using cameraraw 6.3 ps cs5 and silver efex.

'Station Beekbergen'

Been a while again. Last sunday the weather was good. So me my dad and daughter decided to go to 'Station Beekbergen'
It's an old railway station wich houses some nice old steamtrains and diesel loc's.
It's far from a museum, it's a bit messy almost urban at places.
Above 2 from the series i shot there.
Rest is here.
Was the first time i really used the 28mm 1:28 AF with a purpose on the D90 and it worked out just ok, lens is sharp @ higher apertures, even at 2.8 in center. Gonna be using this one more now.
To be honest, the use of the F100 makes me use more and more just primes.

F100.......

The first F100 i got didn't work well, the MP seller gave me part of my money back, very unique and gave me the option to find a new one.
Through LC forum i finally got my self a mint one!
The two above pictures are shot with it.

Nikon F100

MF 50mm on D90

MF Manual Focus lensen on the D90, two oldies but nice ones!
The above is with:
aus Jena DDR T 50mm 1:2.8 trough m42 adapter
Beneath is the:
Mamiya Sekor SX 50mm 1:2 through m42 adapter

Keep on loving the olde MF lenses, use of a m42 adapter with glass works fine.

Cleaned my Nikon Coolscan LS-40 ED

Though scanning results improved i still din't get the sharpness i should and still negatives with results to cry about.
So after being hinted by a Lightcatch forum member i looked into cleaning my LS-40.
Today i did following the tutorial found here:
Cleaning Nikon Coolscan LS-40

It wasn't that difficult and really imroved the quality of the scan!
Though be cautious with the mirror...

Above 1 result, in an older post you can see the first try at that negative.

Scan results......

Above a negative scan from my visit to Middelburg where i bought my scanner.
This is on of the best scan results so far.
I am having problems with some negatives wich just don't give good scans.
Testing, trying and failing is the word.

Above is F90x + 50mm 1.8d on Kodak Color Gold 200.
