Cleaned my Nikon Coolscan LS-40 ED

Though scanning results improved i still din't get the sharpness i should and still negatives with results to cry about.
So after being hinted by a Lightcatch forum member i looked into cleaning my LS-40.
Today i did following the tutorial found here:
Cleaning Nikon Coolscan LS-40
It wasn't that difficult and really imroved the quality of the scan!
Though be cautious with the mirror...
Above 1 result, in an older post you can see the first try at that negative.
Grts Peter.

Vacation 2010, picture taken in a valley behind Grimaud. River ''La Garde''.
It was a great place to strawl around, though the descent to the valley and the following ascent with 34 degrees was a bit of a killer.
Grimaud is a great place with history, check out this url:

M42 adapter & 3 lenses

Already had 3 m42 lenses in my collection, came with the Mamiya msx 500.
Works like a charm. The above is shot with a Mamiya /Sekor SX 200mm 1:3.5.
I think it's sharp enough(not visable in this picture) and i love the Bokeh wich you can see clearly in this picture.
Also a 35mm and a 50mm m42 mount lens came in the 3 pack, so will test them to soon.
Shot info: iso 400 - f3.5 - 1/800 - 200mm.

Besides i have been busy with scans again from Hema.

Analogue results....

I borrowed my dad's Nikon F55, 2 rolls of film later i noticed i really enjoyed taking photo's the ''old'' way.
After seeing the first results(shop instead of usb connection) i decided i liked it so much i wanted an ''old'' camera wich could work together with my old ai and ai-s lenses(metering).
Nikon's F100 and F5 were easily found as great camera's but a bit to pricy. So looking further i noticed the ''Nikon F90x'' And so i was done, marktplaats helped my find a seller that gave me a price i could live with.
So first roll of film in the f90x, some old and one newer lens mounted i went out.
Above you can see 2 results.
I had the film developed at the 'Hema' a warehouse store. Also choose digitized on cd.
A bit disapointed with the quality of the scans i started editing them in Capture NX.
Shot Info:
1: Fuji Susperia x-tra 400, Vivitar 75-205 1:3.8
2: Fuji Susperia x-tra 400, Vivitar 24mm 1:2.8
It is wonderfull shooting like this, i will continue using the F90x besides my Digital D90.
For now the end, i'll take a shot at showing you my F90x.
Cheers.

Testing the Vivitar 70-150 1:3.8

On the NCN forum we became curious about the wide open performance of the Vivitar 70-150 1:3.8 wich at least 2 of us use. Both a Kiron made version. After he went out and shot wide open he was a bit disappointed, but seems to be turning a bit after more testing. So i tried again today and was surprised.
Sure @ f8 it is way sharper but images are good after a bit of extra sharpening, but not that much after all.
Above is one of today! Judge for yourself.

At the moment the Vivitar 75-205 1:3.8 is my favourite lens. At 205mm @ f8 it is sharp and gives a good soft bokeh and almost macro. I love it!!
Enjoy these 2 pictures! Both were taken in my loves garden at 5 'o' clock midday with a bit of sun on 29th of april.
Shot info: Both iso 200 - f8 - 205mm - above 1/250 beneath 1/320.

Testing the new Vivitar.

Got an optically not so good Vivitar Series 1 35-85mm 1:2.8. Should be a very decent lens back in the days. Well i am not disapointed. Due to visual scratches and coating not that good anymore i didnt expect much. But its turns out fairly good i guess. Maybe get a optically condition 'mint' in the future.

Dustcloud
On 14th of April a Volcano erupted in Iceland. Thursday the 15th the dustcloud passed north western europe. Due to this phenomenom the sunset could be much more spectacular than normally.
I went to one of my favourite places, Radio Kootwijk and shot some nice views. The above shows the colors.
Shot info: iso 200 - f8 - 1/160 - 105mm

Gerbera.

I really love the Vivitar zooms. Off course CaptureNX has seen this one but not as much as you would think.
The 24mm Vivitar Prime is not that sharp, hard to get good focus at infinity setting.
Well for now bye.
Shot Info: iso 200 - f5.6 - 1/100 - 205mm.
